During this 3-week intensive, Julia Cameron will be teaching a blend of her two writing books: The Right to Write and Write for Life.
She will lead an exploration of the fundamental tools that make a writing life possible:
Moving on from the fundamentals, she will teach how writing is not dependent on our mood.
Contrary to our mythology, which tells us that writers need special times, special places, and even special pens, we will learn how to write anytime, any place.
Using a wide variety of tools drawn from both books and her own writer’s experience, she will free our writers.
We will take time during each session for questions and answers.
Expect to dismantle your negative, culturally-induced beliefs around writing – and yourself!
Writing can be fun, easy, and positive.
Drawing on fifty-five years of writing experience, Julia will guide you into a more fulfilled writing practice.
Perfectionism freezes writers – as do other limiting beliefs. Learn through exercises that will liberate you into creative freedom.
Learn how our concepts of time often stand in our way; and how you can "grab time," and trust your first thoughts.
Learn how to miniaturize your inner critic, turning it from the voice of doom into a cartoon character –easily dismissed and harmless!

Hailed by the New York Times as “The Queen of Change,” Julia Cameron is credited with starting a movement in 1992 that has brought creativity into the mainstream conversation— in the arts, in business, and in everyday life. She is the best-selling author of more than forty books, fiction and nonfiction; a poet, songwriter, filmmaker and playwright. Commonly referred to as “The Godmother” or “High Priestess” of creativity, her tools are based in practice, not theory, and she considers herself “the floor sample of her own toolkit.” The Artist’s Way has been translated into forty languages and sold over five million copies to date.
Jacob Nordby is the founder of the Heal + Create community and the author of several books, including The Creative Cure – How Finding and Freeing Your Inner Artist Can Heal Your Life. He has worked with Julia Cameron in teaching settings both in-person and virtual for years – and brings his deep experience of her tools to this series.
